My name is Chandler Bolt, and I run an Online Education company called Self Publishing School. We help people write and publish a book that grows their impact, income, and business.

We believe that “books change lives” and in “leveraged impact” (I talk about this in my TEDx talk here). We jump out of bed every day excited to change people’s lives through books.

If you’re reading this, you’re interested in the Executive Assistant position at Self Publishing School (or maybe you know someone who would be a fit). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the right person.

You’ll have a front row seat (and major responsibility / autonomy) at one of the fastest growing companies in America (INC 5,000 the 2 years in a row).

Your mission (should you choose to accept it): is to help us change more lives through books by supporting Chandler and the team. The role has 2 primary areas of focus:

1. Executive Assistant: (support Chandler)

The purpose of the Executive Assistant role is to make Chandler less stressed & more productive in both his personal and professional life. You’re in charge of “running his life”. 

If it doesn’t have to do with growing the company or developing the team, Chandler shouldn’t be doing it. Anything that can be taken off of his plate, should be. 

This frees up Chandler’s time to work on high leverage activities that drive the company forward…creating growth, jobs, and opportunity for everyone involved. This also allows Chandler to “turn off” during personal time & recharge so that he can give 110% while working on the business.

2. Talent Development: (Support the SPS team)

More specifically, free up my time so I can focus on high leverage tasks that make the company money.

The purpose here is to work with the CEO & Executive Team to make SPS one of the best places to work in the US through Talent Development (similar to what most people call HR). It starts with helping recruit & hire the best people to work at SPS and then facilitating the development & retention of those people to be the best they can be. 

This means serving the team, clearing the path for them, and helping people work more effectively. More specifically, this involves recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, employee development, offboarding, etc.

When done well, Labor Efficiency Rate (LER) & Employee Promoter Score (EPS) both go up.

POSITION SUMMARY

You MUST be:

  • Ready to learn, be challenged, and grow a lot
  • Great at planning events & coordinating people
  • Operations and systems oriented
  • Have great communication skills
  • Passionate about serving others & developing people
  • Self sufficient & high ability to figure things out

KPI’s:

  1. Reducing Chandlers amount of time spent on tasks that can be done for under $400/hr
  2. Employee Promoter Score 
  3. Labor Efficiency Rate 
  4. Help Chandler maintain a healthy work / life balance

NOTE: This position full-time and virtual. Meaning you can work from anywhere. The team here at SPS is located around the world, with the majority of us in North America. This position is for someone working in the US or Canada.

DISQUALIFIERS: Please DO NOT apply to this position if you:

  • Have no interest in books (and using books to change people’s lives)
  • Are intimidated by analytics, KPIs, and aggressive growth goals
  • Get bored with day-to-day implementation and execution
  • Are afraid to roll up your sleeves alongside the team to get the job done

Qualifications:

At Self Publishing School, we value work ethic, coachability, attitude, and past results you’ve delivered significantly more than your degree (or lack thereof), GPA, etc.

Have you delivered results in a similar role in the past? If so, that’s what we’re looking for.

Required:

  • Experience as an executive assistant or administrative role
  • Tech savvy
  • Familiar with Google Drive, Calendar, and Email

Preferred:

  • Experience in an virtual work environment
  • Familiar with Slack, Asana, and Hubspot
  • Event planner or project manager experience

THE PAY

$35,000 – $60,000; depending on qualification and experience.
